Product Introduction

A small Toronto based company to help introduce a new product to an existing portfolio of products retained Klondike Marketing and Consulting. The client organization was evaluating a number of potential product options, but unsure on how to proceed.

Klondike Marketing and Consulting prepared and delivered a competitive analysis complete with competitive benchmarks, pricing information, product comparison and a presentation of the results. The next step in the process was to prepare a market analysis that included market data, value chain analysis and channel to market options. The final stage in the process was to conduct an options analysis to select the optimal product development method.

The product was successfully introduced to the client organization and now accounts for approximately 30% of total revenues.

Reverse Logistics Analysis

A large multi-national company was having issues with their repair and return process. The client guaranteed a 10-business day turn-around time, however, they rarely meet this target. The client was experiencing long delays from the time their customer sent the product in for repair until they returned the repaired product to the customer. Klondike Marketing and Consulting was retained to investigate the root cause of the problem.

The clients repair and return process was evaluated using a queuing model, which simulates wait times at each step in the process. A consultation and review was initiated with everyone involved in the reverse logistics process. The results of the consultations were used to develop the queuing simulation model. The results of the simulation showed a number of areas were the reverse logistics process was experiencing difficulty and congestion.

The results of the simulation process were used to develop a set of recommendations that enabled the client to cut their reverse logistics process time in half almost immediately. The client implemented a number of other recommendations as time and budget permitted to further improve the reverse logistics process.
